About the Award The Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation supports innovative research and scholarship. The Inlaks Research Travel Grant helps registered PhD students in Humanities and Social Sciences at Indian universities to visit institutions abroad for short-term research, use facilities, and consult experts.
Eligibility Criteria
- Registered PhD candidate at an Indian university for 2-3 years
- First-class degree at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels
- Born on or after January 1, 1989
- Indian passport holder residing in India
- Pursuing PhD in Humanities and Social Sciences
Application Process
- Download and complete the application form
- Submit a sample of written work (3000-5000 words)
- Provide evidence of communication with an institution or expert abroad
- Include a letter from the PhD supervisor detailing the candidate’s need to go abroad
- Submit two reference letters, a passport copy, and other required documents
Other Details
- Financial support for up to 3 months
- Travel allowance (up to USD 1000)
- Maintenance expenses (up to USD 2000 per month)
- Funds for materials and copies (up to USD 500)
- Health allowance (up to USD 500)
- Material collected becomes the property of the candidate’s institution
- Grant to be utilized within 9 months
- Two-tier selection process: short-listing and interview
