Role Summary
The Curatorial Officer (Collections) will support the Gallery’s curatorial and collections programs, contributing to the delivery of the artistic program. This role involves researching and interpreting works of art, ensuring diligent documentation, display, and care of the permanent collection.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate administration of acquisitions and deaccessions.
- Follow best practices in cataloguing and collection management.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct in-depth object and provenance research.
- Support the development of long-term collection displays.
- Create interpretive materials, public talks, and digital content.
- Collaborate with the Registration and Collections Officer, Exhibitions, and Audience teams.
Ideal Candidate
An organized individual with attention to detail and strong administrative skills. A passion for researching and writing about art, with a broad knowledge of art histories and an interest in First Nations, Australian, and global art.
