Theme: Becoming Machine, Resisting the Artificial. Art in the Present Tense
Eligibility
Early to mid-career critics, commentators, curators, and educators, writing for newspapers, magazines, television, radio, or the internet.
Prizes
- First Place: €1000
- Second Place: €500
- Third Place: €250
- Certificates: Emailed after the Congress
Entry Details
- Entry Fee: None
- Entry Deadline: Sunday, August 18, 2024
- Submission Requirements:
- One essay per applicant
- Essay must be in a single WORD document (no PDFs)
- Essay length: 2000-3000 words with bibliography
- Optional: Up to six labeled images embedded in the text
- 150-word bio including nationality, workplace, and email
Jury Process
The AICA-Int. Awards Committee will read and rank the essays. Only the top three winners will be notified by email and announced at the Congress. The first-place winner will read their essay via Zoom at the Congress. All winning essays will be posted on the AICA-Int. website.
FAQ
- Essayists do not need to be AICA members.
- Essays do not have to follow the Congress theme.
- Previously published essays or essays submitted to other contests are eligible.
- AICA-Int. reserves the right to publish entries on its website and/or AICA-E-MAG.
