Overview
The Programme Manager will oversee the implementation of a new philanthropic fund supporting socially engaged arts practices across Europe. The initial phase runs from early 2025 to the end of 2026, focusing on leadership development, capacity building, advocacy, and international collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Management
- Coordinate and manage the overall programme implementation.
- Serve as the primary contact for all stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Oversee the grant-making process, including proposal calls, grantee selection, and assessment.
- Ensure compliance with NEF frameworks and audit standards in all due diligence, contracting, and payment processes.
Strategic Support
- Contribute to strategy development and provide insights from stakeholders.
- Facilitate Steering Committee meetings and follow up on decisions.
Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement
- Support the Steering Committee in maintaining field knowledge.
- Coordinate advocacy activities and stakeholder relationships.
- Represent the programme at external events and meetings with policy influencers.
Communications
- Liaise between the communications agency and the Steering Committee.
- Manage the programme’s website, social media channels, and mailing lists.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Track project progress and ensure milestones and KPIs are met.
- Support the implementation of monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks.
- Coordinate with NEF to produce annual financial and narrative reports for donors.
Budget and Contract Management
- Manage the budget, coordinate financial reporting, and ensure compliance with NEF policies.
- Oversee contracts with external providers and ensure obligations are met.
- Coordinate financial disbursements and maintain proper fund expenditure records.
Administration
- Plan and coordinate meetings and events for stakeholders.
- Maintain office administration, including record-keeping and correspondence.
Requirements
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in arts project management or grant management within arts, social, or philanthropic sectors.
- Strong knowledge of the European arts and culture sector, including policy landscape and key networks.
- Exceptional planning, organizational, financial, and budgeting skills.
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills with diplomacy and intercultural competence.
- Strong strategic thinking capabilities.
- Experience in supporting communication strategies, including social media and website management.
- Experience in culturally inclusive projects within the arts sector.
- Proficiency with PC and MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and oral command of English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
Desirable:
- Experience with capacity-building, leadership, or organizational development programmes.
- Knowledge of advocacy in the European arts and cultural sector and its intersection with other socially driven policies.
- Working knowledge of other European languages.
