The Department of Art History at UCLA invites applications for a position specializing in Korean Art History at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (with tenure), starting on July 1, 2025. This position focuses on Korean art history and emphasizes methodological innovation and connections between Korea and other geo-cultural regions. Candidates are encouraged to collaborate with the Center for Korean Studies and the Program in Korean Humanities at UCLA.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct research in Korean art history with a focus on cross-field collaboration.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the department.
- Contribute to the academic community through research, teaching, and service.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Art History or a related field by the time of appointment.
- Competence in relevant research languages.
- A strong record of research and teaching in Korean art history.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, research, or service.
