The Singapore Art Museum (SAM) is seeking a Head of Partnerships & Patronage to lead its fundraising and partnership efforts. This is a critical role responsible for overseeing and implementing strategies that align with SAM’s vision of connecting Southeast Asian contemporary art with the public and future generations. The successful candidate will manage a team of two and report directly to the Acting COO and CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fundraising & Partnership Strategy: Develop and implement an annual fundraising strategy aligned with SAM’s vision and objectives.
- Corporate & Individual Giving: Identify new corporate and individual partners, fostering relationships to support SAM through corporate giving, in-kind sponsorship, and legacy schemes.
- Donor Stewardship: Manage existing donor relationships, ensuring donor satisfaction and encouraging increased giving.
- Collaboration with Board Members: Support the Board on fundraising initiatives and cultivate external alliances to enhance philanthropic support.
- Sponsorship Pitches: Lead strategic sponsorship pitches and follow-up activities.
- Donor Servicing: Manage the donor portfolio, including servicing and preparing update reports for donors.
- Membership Program Development: Establish a membership program targeting corporates, individuals, expatriates, and Singaporean visitors.
- Ethical Governance: Ensure compliance with ethical gift acceptance policies and best practices.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance to the Partnerships & Patronage team, developing strategies, budgets, and managing governance.
- Development Committee: Serve as the secretariat for the Development Committee.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities to support team goals as required.
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 10 years of experience in fundraising, philanthropy, business development, or related fields, with knowledge of museum administration and programming.
- Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strategic planning, budget management, and project management skills. Ability to engage with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levels.
- Team Leadership: Prior experience managing a small team is preferred.
- Personal Qualities: A proactive, collaborative, and resourceful team player with strong interpersonal skills.
