Proyectos Monclova, a contemporary art gallery based in Mexico City, focuses on fostering dialogue between local and international artists from various generations. The gallery is seeking a Head Registrar to manage the registration, documentation, and logistics of its growing collection and exhibitions.
Requirements:
- Academic Background: Degree in Art History, Conservation, Museology, Cultural Management, or related areas.
- Previous Experience: Preferably with experience in galleries, museums, or cultural institutions in art management, inventory, and conservation tasks.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Artlogic, SketchUp, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Organizational & Archiving Skills: Accuracy in documenting artworks, including their condition, location, price, and transportation details.
- Art Conservation & Handling Knowledge: Understanding of proper packing, transportation, and storage methods, as well as preventive conservation principles.
- Communication Skills: Ability to coordinate with artists and transporters and provide information to the gallery team.
- Multitasking & Problem-Solving Abilities: Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and resolving issues related to artwork transportation or condition.
- Languages: Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
