Overview:
The Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) is seeking a Hatched Curatorial Associate to assist in delivering the 2025-26 Hatched: National Graduate Show. This position offers valuable practical experience in curatorial practice, with a focus on early-career curators. The selected candidate will work closely with PICA’s exhibitions team, including collaborating with artists and educational institutions, and participating in exhibition planning and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate with artists, universities, and stakeholders throughout the nomination and selection processes.
- Exhibition Administration: Prepare project timelines, manage artist agreements, and develop exhibition materials.
- Exhibition and Programming Delivery: Support exhibition layout, installation, and public programs, including artist talks and tours.
- Evaluation and Reporting: Maintain records for reporting and contribute to funding applications and evaluations.
- Other Duties: Develop networks, ensure compliance with legal responsibilities, and engage in public inquiries and events.
Selection Criteria:
- Tertiary qualification in visual arts or equivalent gallery experience.
- Experience in curatorial projects and publications.
- Strong administrative, planning, and project coordination skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Outlook, and Teams.
- Working with Children Check and a current driver’s licence are required.
