The Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Arts and Science is seeking an Assistant Professor of Research-Creation in Visual Arts to join the Department of Art History, Cinema and Audiovisual Media. This role will contribute to an innovative teaching and research environment, emphasizing visual arts and research-creation within Quebec’s cultural landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead a research program in visual arts and research-creation.
- Teach across undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise students, and engage in departmental activities.
- Contribute to the academic life and reputation of the faculty through committee work, conferences, publications, and exhibitions.
- Foster collaborations with arts institutions and galleries.
Qualifications:
- PhD (or nearing completion) in visual arts, art history, or a related field.
- Strong record of publications and ongoing artistic practice with recognition in the field.
- Demonstrated university teaching experience and student supervision.
- Commitment to achieving proficiency in French, supported by language assistance if needed.
