The Centre d’Art Contemporani Fabra i Coats, under the MACBA in Barcelona, is seeking an Artistic Director to lead its artistic programming and operations. This role involves overseeing exhibitions, public programs, publications, and educational and community engagement initiatives, all within the center’s established goals and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the proposed artistic program, which includes exhibitions, public programs, publications, and educational activities.
- Promote research focused on education and cultural innovation.
- Develop and maintain collaborations with art institutions locally, nationally, and internationally.
- Engage with the local community, with special attention to the Fabra i Coats area, Sant Andreu neighborhood, and the city of Barcelona.
- Write program-related materials for internal communication, press, and publication.
- Represent the Centre at events, public activities, and professional forums.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, recognized in Spain. Foreign degrees must be validated by the Ministry of Education.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a relevant field, both locally and internationally.
- Proficiency in Catalan, Spanish, and English (C1 level certification required for Catalan and English if selected as a finalist).
- EU nationality or equivalent eligibility; knowledge of Catalan and Spanish will be verified.
- Must meet the legal requirements for public employment in Spain.
