Fellowship Overview
The BCA’s Longwood Arts Project is seeking a Bronx-based Curatorial Fellow to assist in curating the 2025 exhibition series titled “The World We Want to Live In.” This fellowship explores the role of art in social and political movements, aiming to foster public discourse and activism. This six-month program provides hands-on curatorial training, mentorship, and exposure to the Bronx arts and culture scene.
Fellowship Responsibilities
- Participate in exhibition development from theme selection to installation.
- Coordinate with artists, vendors, and arts organizations.
- Join in studio visits, educate visitors, and manage exhibition records.
- Handle administrative tasks, oversee artwork logistics, and assist in layout design.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a resident of the Bronx and able to travel within the borough.
- Bachelor’s degree in art or a related field preferred, with experience in museums or arts organizations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office; Photoshop knowledge is desirable.
