Salary Range: $43,000–$48,000

Reports to: Chief Curator and Curator
The Curatorial Assistant will support the Curatorial Department in administrative tasks and project implementation. This position involves a high level of public interaction and coordination between departments. Responsibilities include managing schedules, budgets, and bilingual communications for exhibitions, collections, and programming.
Responsibilities:
- Communication & Coordination:
- Manage general inquiries and bilingual correspondences.
- Organize and coordinate meetings, travel, and logistics.
- Maintain curatorial mailing lists and liaise with the Development Department.
- Budget & Project Management:
- Track expenditures and process invoices.
- Liaise with vendors, authors, designers, and art handlers.
- Exhibitions & Publications:
- Assist in planning and implementing exhibitions, proofread bilingual texts, and manage materials for signage, brochures, and catalogues.
- Support installation and de-installation logistics.
- Research & Liaison Work:
- Conduct research and prepare materials for various departments, including Education and Communications.
- Act as the Curatorial Liaison for institutional events such as Three Kings Day, Dia de los Muertos, and Hispanic Heritage Month.
- Supervision:
- Oversee volunteers, interns, and contract workers as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Art, Art History, Museum Studies, or related field.
- 2–4 years of curatorial or administrative experience, preferably with exhibitions, collections, or publications.
- English/Spanish bilingual proficiency (written and spoken).
- Proficiency in digital tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Photoshop, and project management software. Experience with TMS, Raisers Edge, or AutoCAD is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
