Salary: Starting at €2,600 gross/month (negotiable based on qualifications and experience).
The Kunsthalle Wien seeks an enthusiastic Assistant Curator to join its dynamic team in Vienna. This role offers an opportunity to collaborate closely with artists, curators, and exhibition producers, contributing significantly to contemporary art discourse and exhibition production.
Key Responsibilities
- Support planning, research, and production of artistic programs.
- Collaborate with artists, curators, and exhibition producers for exhibition design.
- Assist in editorial work with the publications team, including writing, editing, and proofreading exhibition texts in English and German.
- Research and maintain exhibition documents, such as artwork lists and biographies.
- Manage loan requests and support fundraising and sponsorship initiatives.
- Participate in communications, marketing, public programming, and audience engagement activities.
- Provide budgetary support to the production team.
Candidate Profile
- Profound knowledge and enthusiasm for contemporary art.
- Relevant educational background or minimum one year of professional experience in contemporary art, preferably in a public institution.
- Excellent communication skills in German and English.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ideally SketchUp.
- Strong writing and organizational skills, with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Team-oriented, flexible, and resilient under pressure.
