Salary: $50,000 – $55,000 annually
Relocation Expense: Not covered
Travel: 30% required

Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is seeking an Associate Registrar, Collections to manage the museum’s acquisitions, outgoing loan programs, and overall stewardship of its growing collection of 3,400+ artworks. Reporting to the Director of Collections and Exhibitions Planning, the successful candidate will play an essential role in preserving, documenting, and ensuring the safety of PAMM’s permanent collection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage acquisitions and outgoing loans, including preparation for committee meetings, documentation, and logistics.
  • Oversee condition checks, packing, and shipping arrangements for acquisitions and loans.
  • Ensure proper organization and documentation of permanent collection records in TMSC and other platforms.
  • Coordinate conservation treatments, outdoor sculpture maintenance, and photography of collection objects.
  • Track environmental conditions in storage areas and address fluctuations with appropriate departments.
  • Conduct quarterly audits of on-site and off-site collections.
  • Develop and maintain collection management and loan policies and procedures.
  • Provide 30% oversight of Assistant Registrar duties supporting collections.
  • Serve as courier for outgoing loans as needed.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Art, Art History, Museum Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of museum registration experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of collection management systems, preferably TMSC.
  • Excellent organizational, research, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience in collections management.
  • Familiarity with U.S. laws on artwork ownership, transfer, and tax laws for charitable donations.
