NOTAR IV, part of the MAR platform supported by Fundación Daniel y Nina Carasso and hablarenarte, offers three research residencies in Madrid. These residencies focus on producing situated knowledge in cultural mediation and critical pedagogies, transforming practical insights into accessible, applicable resources.

Applicants can submit research projects within these six lines:
- Contemporary Discomforts: Addressing crises from pandemics and ecological issues to rising fascism and geopolitical tensions.
- Mediation Policies/Critical Pedagogies: Rethinking collective culture creation.
- Commons: Experimental practices fostering governance, cultural creation, or learning.
- Porous Institutions: Practices that bridge social and institutional structures to promote cultural democracy.
- Deviations: Alternative connectivity and sustainability through activism and care networks.
- Archive and Memory: Exploring art/education histories and archives at community and institutional levels.
Eligibility
- Open to individuals and collectives of any nationality.
- Candidates must be professionals in research, arts, curatorship, cultural management, formal and informal education, or mediation.
- A research project (max. 8 pages) is required, detailing methodology, resources, and expected outcomes.
Residency Conditions
- Residencies are in-person at Planta Alta, Madrid.
- Selected projects receive €7,000 as a research grant (gross, including taxes and deductions).
- Residencies begin September 8, 2025, and conclude in early December 2025.
