Role Overview
The Gallery Associate is a pivotal role within Sullivan+Strumpf’s Melbourne team, bridging client relations, digital engagement, and exhibition support. Reporting to the Associate Director, you’ll drive sales, audience growth, and artist promotion in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Client & Sales Development:
- Cultivate collector relationships and identify new opportunities.
- Coordinate sales activities aligned with exhibition strategies.
- Digital & Communications:
- Update the gallery website daily.
- Create social media content (photo/video skills preferred).
- Collaborate on print/digital advertising.
- Public Programs: Assist in developing talks/events to engage new audiences.
- Team Collaboration: Support exhibition logistics and foster a positive workplace culture.
Essential Requirements
- 2+ years in a commercial gallery (contemporary art knowledge preferred).
- Tech-savvy: Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms.
- Exceptional communicator (written/verbal) with a client-service focus.
- Driver’s license (for local art transport/events).
- Self-motivated – thrives under pressure with a solutions-oriented approach.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in video/photo editing for digital promotion.
- Familiarity with art market trends in Asia-Pacific.
