Archivo Papers Journal, a peer-reviewed annual publication dedicated to photography and visual archival practices, is seeking new Associate Editors and Editorial Board Members. The roles offer the opportunity to actively shape the journal’s editorial vision and participate in the broader discourse on photography and visual culture.
Founded in 2021, the journal explores both historical and contemporary perspectives and is published in collaboration with Archivo Platform. Editorial members also contribute to the journal’s annual conference Reframing the Archive.
Roles and Responsibilities
Associate Editors

Manage the peer review process and liaise with authors and reviewers

Coordinate thematic issues and contribute to editorial strategy

Assist with editing, proofreading, and internal communications

Attend regular online meetings
Editorial Board Members

Review submitted manuscripts and advise on journal themes

Promote the journal and support outreach

Participate in periodic meetings with the Editorial Team
Candidate Profile
-
A background in photography, visual culture, curatorial or media studies (PhD or equivalent experience preferred)

Familiarity with peer review and academic publishing

Strong knowledge of photography theory and visual archives

Excellent English communication skills

Commitment to ethical publishing standards
Previous editorial experience is welcomed but not required.
