The Exhibitions Project Manager ensures the seamless delivery of exhibitions from conception to deinstallation, adhering to museum standards, timelines, and budgets. As the primary liaison for assigned projects, you’ll collaborate with curators, designers, lenders (including Arts Council England), and venue partners while managing an Exhibition Assistant.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Project Management: Oversee exhibitions from planning to touring logistics.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Lead communications with external contractors, publishers, and transport agents.
- Budget & Timeline Control: Deliver projects on schedule and within financial constraints.
- Team Leadership: Line-manage an Exhibition Assistant and mentor junior staff.
- Problem-Solving: Address installation challenges and ensure lender requirements are met.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing large-scale museum/gallery exhibitions.
- Strong organizational skills with expertise in budget tracking and contract negotiation.
- Leadership ability to guide cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Knowledge of art handling, loan agreements, and museum best practices.
- Flexibility for early/late hours (TOIL provided).
