M+ is Asia’s leading museum of 20th–21st century visual culture, specializing in design, architecture, moving image, and Hong Kong’s creative legacy. Situated in the West Kowloon Cultural District, M+ merges local and global perspectives to redefine contemporary narratives.

Role Overview

As Associate Curator, you will:

Research & Interpretation:
- Investigate M+’s Design & Architecture collections and potential acquisitions.
- Develop scholarly content for exhibitions, publications, and digital platforms.
Collection Development:
- Document and standardize object records with Conservation/Registration teams.
- Supervise curatorial assistants as needed.
Collaboration:
- Work with Learning, Digital, and Exhibitions teams to shape public engagement.
- Coordinate with external partners on curatorial projects.

Requirements

Essential:

Master’s degree in Design, Architecture, Cultural Studies, or related fields.
6–9 years of research/writing experience in design/architecture (museum or cultural institution preferred).
Expertise in Asian design/architecture (historical and contemporary).
Bilingual proficiency (English + Chinese; additional Asian languages a plus).
Technical Skills:
- Advanced research methodologies.
- Data/file management (museum databases, TMS, etc.).

Preferred:

Experience with international collaborations and large-scale exhibitions.
Published work in design/architecture scholarship.
