Artist Liaison/Director (m/w/d) – Galerie Max Mayer, Berlin, Germany

Location: Berlin, Germany
Work Hours: 32 or 40 hours/week
Start Date: August 1, 2025

Galerie Max Mayer is seeking a dedicated Artist Liaison/Director to join its team for its new location in Berlin starting August 2025. The gallery, which has been operating since 2011 in Düsseldorf, will be relocating to Berlin in the summer of 2025. The candidate will work closely with the gallery owner to develop and represent the gallery’s program, building sustainable relationships and networks on both national and international levels.

Responsibilities:

Conceptual and content-related development of exhibitions with artists
Collaborating with the gallery owner on presentations for international exhibitions in Germany and abroad
Expanding and maintaining contacts in the art market and client relationships
Representing the gallery at international art fairs and exhibitions
Processing inquiries from institutions and collectors, preparing offers, and closing sales
Managing press and public relations
Supporting the gallery’s website and social media presence

Qualifications:

Several years of experience in a similar role in an international gallery
Profound knowledge of art history and a strong alignment with the gallery’s program
Ability to travel and work in the Berlin gallery space
High motivation, self-initiative, and a sense of responsibility
Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills
Business fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
Proficient with IT and familiar with common applications such as Art Butler
