Curator – Portikus, Frankfurt am Main, Germany

Full-time, 3-year contract (renewable)
Salary: E13 TV-Hessen

Portikus, a leading exhibition space affiliated with the Städelschule, is seeking a Curator to co-develop and implement an ambitious and critically relevant exhibition programme. Working closely with the Portikus Director and team, the Curator will initiate and manage solo/group exhibitions, new commissions, publications, and educational outreach, while fostering connections with both local and international audiences.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree (or equivalent experience), at least five years’ curatorial experience, a robust international network, proven fundraising and project management skills, and strong teaching or mentoring capabilities. Fluency in German and English is required.

Responsibilities include:

Development and realisation of innovative exhibitions
Oversight of production and collaboration with artists and teams
Budget management and fundraising strategy
Engagement with students of Fine Arts and Curatorial Studies
Public programming and institutional representation
Promotion of diversity, equity and inclusion
