Salary: AUD $113,068–$125,539 per annum + superannuation
Contract: Permanent, Full-time with monthly Rostered Day Off (RDO)

The Art Gallery of Ballarat is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Assistant Director – Engagement to lead a high-performing team in Australia’s oldest regional art gallery. This senior leadership role oversees Development, Marketing, Education, Front of House and Public Programs, playing a crucial role in shaping the Gallery’s reputation, audience growth and stakeholder relationships.

The role works closely with the Director and Assistant Director – Curatorial to implement the Gallery’s strategic vision and drive cultural tourism in the Ballarat region through innovative public-facing initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

Proven experience in grants, sponsorship, marketing, and public relations
Strategic planning, problem-solving and stakeholder management capabilities
Demonstrated fundraising and partnership development success
Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills
Experience in branding and audience engagement within the arts or events sectors
Excellent communication, negotiation and time management skills
