The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) offers five 12-month internships for recent graduates seeking hands-on experience in various museum departments. Interns benefit from focused departmental training, museum-wide lectures and seminars, and curated activities that provide a broad understanding of modern and contemporary art and museum practice. Each internship includes support for an independent research trip.
Available Internships

Office of the Director: Assist with high-level administration, internal and external communication, and executive scheduling.

Media and Performance: Support research, acquisitions, and event programming (e.g., Modern Mondays). Language skills in Portuguese or Spanish are a plus.

Architecture and Design: Contribute to research and preparation for a major 2026 exhibition on West African modernist architecture. Tasks include image rights, lender coordination, and archival work.

Learning and Engagement (Family Programs): Participate in the development and implementation of family programs, including gallery activities and online content.

Marketing and Audience Strategy (Graphic Design Team): Collaborate with designers and editors on print and digital materials to expand and engage MoMA’s audiences.
Eligibility
Applicants must be recent graduates (BA or MA) by the start date. Ideal candidates have experience in research and writing in art history or related disciplines. Interns work Monday–Friday, 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
