Contract: Temporary, up to 4 years
Hours: Full-Time
Salary: $98,936 – $118,295 base salary; total remuneration package up to $133,487 (including superannuation and annual leave loading)
The Exhibition Curator is responsible for the conception, research, planning, and development of exhibitions across all Powerhouse Museum sites, including the new Powerhouse Parramatta. The role involves collaboration with internal departments and external partners nationally and internationally to deliver a dynamic and co-designed program linked to industry and community needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize, research, develop, and present exhibitions for the Powerhouse Program.
- Deliver exhibitions and projects collaboratively across departments to ensure quality and community engagement.
- Liaise with industry, community, and collection curators to acquire relevant material culture for the collection.
- Build relationships with national and international organisations to support curatorial excellence.
- Contribute to improving exhibition delivery and maintain best practice policies.
- Prepare exhibition documentation, reports, budgets, sponsorship, and grant applications.
- Manage museum collection databases and records.
- Mentor assistant curators and support professional development.

- Managing multiple projects within tight deadlines while maintaining high standards.
- Developing and maintaining relationships to support strategic goals and the Powerhouse renewal program.
- Implementing collaborative working practices.
