Leuphana University is hiring two Research Associates for the PAESE 3.0 project, part of the “Digital Provenance and Collection Research Science Space.” This initiative builds on prior research into ethnographic collections in Lower Saxony, focusing on enriching and contextualising provenance data, with cross-institutional collaboration.

Responsibilities
-
Enhance and contextualize legacy data related to colonial collections
-
Conduct requirement analysis for data development
-
Coordinate sub-project activities and institutional collaborations
-
Organize project workshops and outreach activities
-
Engage in national and international networks on provenance research
-
Prepare deliverables including schedules, reports, and best practice guidelines
Candidate Profile
Applicants are welcome from both humanities and informatics backgrounds:
Option A – Humanities:

PhD (preferred) or MA in History, Anthropology, Art History, Sociology, or similar

Experience with colonial collections and metadata standards (e.g., CIDOC-CRM)
Option B – Informatics:

PhD, MA, or BA with relevant professional experience in Computer Science, Library/Data Science, or Digital Humanities

Familiarity with cultural heritage informatics and metadata structures
Additional Requirements

Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration

Excellent English (spoken and written); French or other languages are an asset
