MACBA invites applications for a permanent full-time position as Assistant Curator of Exhibitions (Group A2). This role involves research planning aligned with exhibition programming, leading coordination and production of assigned exhibitions and touring projects, budget management, contract handling, and small-scale curatorial projects as needed.

Responsibilities

Plan and conduct research related to exhibitions

Manage and lead assigned exhibition projects and itineraries

Oversee budgets and contracts with various agents and partners

Prepare public tenders and monitor deadlines and commitments

Draft exhibition-related texts

Curate small-scale exhibition projects as needed
Requirements
-
Must be a permanent civil servant or indefinite staff from participating public administrations (Barcelona City Council, Generalitat de Catalunya, or Spanish State Administration) under Article 121 of Law 40/2015

University degree

Minimum 3 years’ experience in exhibition coordination and production with contemporary artists

Catalan language proficiency C1 or higher (or pass relevant test if finalist)

English proficiency B2 or higher (or pass relevant test if finalist)

Eligibility: Spanish or EU national, or nationals from countries with free movement agreements with the EU
