About the Program:
Medialab Matadero invites proposals for its Situated Research Residency program, focusing on transdisciplinary, collaborative, and open research at the intersection of art, design, science, technology, and society. The residency supports projects addressing contemporary urban and global challenges aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (2030 Agenda).
Key Features:
- Research projects should be experimental, socially and ecologically engaged, and combine creative practice with conceptual development.
- Residency encourages ongoing dialogue with Medialab’s community, other residents, and the public, including public programming like seminars, workshops, or discussions.
- Access to technical facilities, fablab, and workspace at Medialab Matadero.
- Guidance from Medialab’s curatorial team and support for both local and international networking.
Eligibility:
Open to projects from diverse fields such as art, design, architecture, urbanism, economics, environmental sciences, philosophy, engineering, political science, programming, activism, and more. Both emerging and expert practitioners are encouraged to apply.
