
Research Assistant (Latin American Art)

Pay Scale: $27.51 per hour (salary commensurate with experience and internal equity)
Job Summary
The Research Assistant will support curators, scholars, and other scholarly staff by facilitating and assisting with research projects, exhibitions, and publications.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Conducts research in the special collections and contributes to the conceptual development of projects by organizing and creating documentation such as bibliographies, literature reviews, and text orders.
- Requests images for exhibitions and publications; researches and obtains art and image permissions.
- Proofreads, edits, and translates as needed.
- Assists with creation of project websites and PowerPoint presentations.
- May copyedit essays, author biographies, endnotes, and other scholarly materials.
- May assist with organizing art programs for publications by communicating with authors, updating essay drafts, checking page proofs, and proofing indexes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Art History with a specialization in Latin American art; Master’s degree preferred.
- 0–2 years of research experience (education may be considered).
- Fluency in Spanish required.

- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner.
- Ability to build relationships, partner with others, and work collaboratively on teams.
- Ability to set and meet deadlines independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe software suites preferred.
