The National Museum of Singapore is expanding its National Collection in design, with a focus on architecture. This role involves shaping the museum’s architecture-related collections and engaging the public with Singapore’s design history, urban transformation, and social heritage.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop curatorial and collecting strategies in architecture and design.
- Acquire new artefacts and maintain relationships with donors, institutions, and collectors.
- Curate exhibitions on design and architecture, for both physical and digital platforms.
- Conduct research and produce publications on Singapore’s design history.
- Engage with the public via talks, tours, interviews, and other outreach activities.
- Collaborate with internal departments (education, programming, marketing) and external partners.
Candidate Profile
- Academic background in history, design, architecture, or related humanities/social sciences.
- At least 2 years of research or curatorial experience preferred.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills in English; other languages are a plus.
- Strong organisational, project management, and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptable, collaborative, and open to innovative curatorial approaches, including digital technologies.
