MoMA PS1 seeks a Curatorial Assistant to support the Chief Curator, senior Curators, and guest Curators in the research, development, coordination, and execution of exhibitions and related programs. The role involves curatorial research, exhibition production, catalogue coordination, public programs, and cross-department collaboration to ensure smooth delivery of ambitious exhibitions and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support checklist development, exhibition and artwork production, and participate in weekly production meetings.
- Coordinate with artists, galleries, and organizations; assist with wall labels, text, and press materials.
- Conduct bibliographic, biographical, and catalogue research for current and future exhibitions.
- Book travel arrangements for artists and collaborators; handle inquiries from the public and scholars.
- Assist in general curatorial work and public engagement, including gallery tours.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 2 years of curatorial or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary art and exhibition planning.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, video conferencing; knowledge of TMS or related databases is a plus.
- Professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive information.
