Location: Middelburg, the Netherlands
Vleeshal seeks a Curator to work closely with the Executive Director on all aspects of its exhibitions and art commissioning activities, both curatorially and administratively. The role supports the development and realization of exhibitions on-site and off-site, public programs, and digital initiatives, while maintaining Vleeshal’s rigorous and inspiring curatorial vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and realize exhibitions and nomadic programs.
- Liaise with artists, contributors, and partner institutions for co-commissions and touring projects.
- Support public programs and digital initiatives.
- Collaborate with Production, Communications, Participation, and Executive teams.
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum four years of curatorial experience in contemporary art.
- Strong knowledge of regional and international art contexts and an active professional network.
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills; digital editing skills a plus.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, spoken and written.
- Willing to reside in or near Middelburg.
- Responsive, decisive, empathetic, and committed to art institutions.
