The Powerhouse Museum is seeking a Program Curator, First Nations to develop and deliver innovative public programming, co-productions, festivals, and partnerships that amplify First Nations voices and perspectives. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external First Nations communities to ensure authentic, inclusive, and representative programming across all Powerhouse sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement public and partnership programs centering First Nations stories and leadership.
- Collaborate with teams across the Museum to deliver culturally safe and community-driven initiatives.
- Curate co-productions and festivals in partnership with First Nations communities and artists.
- Advocate for First Nations representation and engagement within the Museum’s programming.
- Contribute to Powerhouse’s ongoing renewal program across its five platforms.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in program curation or community engagement within arts, culture, or heritage sectors.
- Deep understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and protocols.
- Proven ability to collaborate respectfully and effectively with First Nations communities.
- Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and advocacy abilities.
