Internship Overview
The Whitney’s Summer Internship Program is a full-time, paid, nine-week opportunity offering training, hands-on professional experience, and a weekly speaker series. The 2026 session will run from Monday, June 1 to Friday, July 31, with interns required to be available Monday–Friday for the entire nine weeks.

Position: Curatorial Intern

Expected Projects & Assignments
- Organize Lichtenstein catalogue materials and processes, including checklist and database management
- Research potential POI/institutional information for exhibitions
- Assist with preliminary research for the Whitney’s 2028–2029 exhibition
- Organize exhibition projects through SharePoint/Teams
- Provide background support for acquisition materials for the Painting & Sculpture Committee, including preparing research materials
Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest in American Art from the 1960s–present (preferred)
- Previous research experience (required)
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to multitask
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Open to currently enrolled undergraduate students in accredited programs
- Interest in art/art history preferred but students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply
- No prior museum experience required

Contribute to projects led by the Nancy and Fred Poses Curator, including exhibition preparation and acquisition processes.
Compensation
