Backwater Artists Group invites applications for its Emerging Curator Award 2027. The award supports an early-career curator to develop their curatorial practice and gain experience in all aspects of exhibition production. The selected curator will work with the team to produce a members’ group exhibition or project in Studio 12 as part of Backwater Artists’ 2027 programme.
Award Details / Support Provided
- 4-week exhibition/project slot in 2027
- Curator’s fee: €2,000 (includes initial studio visit and engagement event)
- Exhibition production budget: TBC
- Mentorship: €1,000 with an established curator of the awardee’s choice
- Travel & accommodation: €500
- Technical installation support, marketing & PR support, and administrative support provided
- Artists’ fees covered by the organisation
- Professional photography of the project and commissioned exhibition text
