The Collegium offers ten-month residential fellowships for early-career academics and artists, supporting projects that cross disciplinary boundaries and encourage unconventional approaches. The program is open to postdoctoral researchers and artists with a master’s degree from art schools where doctoral degrees are not awarded. Interdisciplinary teams of up to three people may also apply.
Fellowship Details

Duration: 10 months (1 September 2026 – 30 June 2027)

Full-time employment at ETH Zurich with salary CHF 75,000–85,000 for 10 months

Up to CHF 2,000 for travel and research expenses

Organizational and financial support up to CHF 10,000 for a fellowship-related event

Fellows have access to office, IT, and library infrastructure; partial off-site work may be approved if essential
Eligibility Criteria

Doctoral degree in an academic discipline or master’s degree from an art school (for institutions not awarding doctorates)

Within five years of academic career stage (exceptions considered for career breaks, parental or care responsibilities, part-time work)

International applicants and candidates affiliated with ETH Zurich, University of Zurich, or Zurich University of the Arts are welcome

Support from an associate fellow at a supporting institution is required
Fellow Expectations

Pursue individual or team-based projects as proposed in the application

Participate in Collegium seminars, workshops, and discussions

Organize a public event (workshop, lecture, exhibition, or performance) related to the fellowship project
-
Contribute to the Collegium’s academic and artistic program
