The Getty Research Institute seeks an Associate Curator to develop, administer, and present its collection of prints and drawings, spanning the Renaissance to the contemporary era. The position involves research, exhibitions, publications, acquisitions, and public engagement, with a focus on Early Modern art but openness to all areas of the collection.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct advanced scholarly research to support the institutional mission

Organize exhibitions, publications, and major acquisitions

Cultivate national and international scholarly networks

Lead or collaborate in research projects and collection initiatives

Assess conservation needs, participate in digitization, and manage loan requests

Publish and lecture in area of specialization
Qualifications

Master’s or PhD in art history or related discipline, or 4–7 years of curatorial experience

Fluency in at least one foreign language related to field of specialization

Skilled in all curatorial functions, including collection management and digital asset management

Strong research, writing, and communication abilities

Ability to build long-term relationships and collaborate across teams
