Curator, Migros Museum for Contemporary Art

The Migros Museum for Contemporary Art is part of the Society & Culture Directorate of the Migros Cooperative Federation, which serves as a national center of excellence and is responsible for a broad portfolio of cultural and social projects within Migros’ engagement. The museum is dedicated to the production, exhibition, collection, and mediation of international contemporary art.
Key Responsibilities
- Curation and/or co-curation of exhibition projects, including research, conceptual development, implementation, administration, evaluation, and budget responsibility
- Project management for new artistic productions and co-productions
- Conceptualization and realization of publications, including text production and editorial work
- Contribution to the overall program development of the museum
- Participation in the development and implementation of strategies for community and public-practice projects
- Supervisory responsibility for interns
Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least five years of professional experience as a curator in an art institution
- Completed degree (university, ETH, university of applied sciences, or higher professional education) in art history, art studies, or a comparable field
- Fluent German (spoken and written)
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Extensive experience in curating exhibitions
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in contemporary art and its social and interdisciplinary contexts
- Proven experience in initiating and supporting artistic productions
- Strong project management skills
