ARAK Collection offers a residency for art writers, critics, and journalists to produce publications and essays engaging with contemporary African art practices.

Fellowship Format

• Grant: Approximately USD 20,000 (USD 5,000 research, USD 15,000 for writing and publication).

• Duration: Two-stage residency

  • Stage 1 – Research: Immersive engagement with the ARAK Collection, artists, and curators.

  • Stage 2 – Writing & Publishing: Draft and develop essays, articles, or books for publication, supported by ARAK Collection editorial and design assistance.
