Botín Foundation Fellowship for Curatorial Studies Abroad 2026/2027

The Botín Foundation offers a fellowship for specialized training abroad in curatorial studies, aimed at acquiring professional skills in museum management and exhibition organization. The training must focus on contemporary art (from the avant-garde to the present). The fellowship is for one academic year, with a possible extension under the same conditions.

Fellowship Details

  • Duration: 1 academic year (to be started before the end of 2026)

  • Field: Curatorial studies in contemporary art

  • Eligibility:

    • Diploma, degree, graduate, or postgraduate student in Fine Arts, Art History, Philosophy and Aesthetics, Literature, Humanities, or Art Criticism, or professionals with proven experience in the field

    • Spanish nationality or at least five years of residency in Spain

    • Age between 22 and 40 years

    • Proficiency in the language of the host institution

    • Written acceptance from the chosen training center

  • Stipend: €18,000 for travel, accommodation, living expenses, etc., plus up to €12,000 for tuition fees

  • Payment schedule: 45% at start, 25% in the following two quarters, 5% upon receipt of final report
