Director – Rebecca Horn Moontower Foundation
The Moontower Foundation is a non-profit foundation founded by Rebecca Horn (1944–2024). It oversees the artist’s estate and is dedicated to preserving, researching, and internationally exhibiting Rebecca Horn’s artistic legacy, as well as supporting emerging artists. We are seeking a visionary, empathetic, and pragmatic leader with a confident presence to serve as director of this outstanding institution.
Your Responsibilities
Operational and Professional Responsibility
- Promotion and stewardship of the artistic legacy of Rebecca Horn
- Oversight of the catalogue raisonné and archive, with a focus on digitization and cataloguing
- Support and review of exhibition concepts, publications, and loan requests
- Building and maintaining relationships with museums
- Collaboration with galleries
- Leadership of the team and responsibility for the foundation’s premises
Leadership and Governance Tasks
- Fostering communicative and collaborative cooperation between the team and stakeholders
- Ensuring transparency toward the Board of Trustees
Strategic Development and Innovation

Development and implementation of a vision for the foundation in alignment with Rebecca Horn’s wishes, shaping a new orientation for the future
Process Management and Value Creation
- Responsible management of the budget
- Increasing the visibility of the foundation and its programs
Your Profile
Professional Expertise
- Completed degree in art history or a comparable qualification
- Existing or developable knowledge of Rebecca Horn and her oeuvre
- Creativity and management experience
- Ability to build a strong and sustainable network with art institutions, artists, and other stakeholders
Leadership Skills
- Proven experience in management and leadership roles, ideally within a public or non-profit art context
- Empathetic, pragmatic, and composed personality with a hands-on mentality
Trends and Concepts
- Ability to develop and communicate a compelling vision
- Experience in the preservation and mediation of artistic content
- Fundraising expertise
Processes and Potential
- Interest in transformation processes and experience with administrative matters
- Fluent German and English
