Skills e. V. is seeking a Project Coordinator (focus on Production) for the research programme Grounding the Human: Niedersachsen, starting April 1, 2026. The project runs until 2029 and operates at the intersection of art, science, and societal transformation.
Grounding the Human is a transdisciplinary research programme connecting researchers from Lower Saxony universities with international artistic perspectives. Through open calls, the initiative supports collaborative projects addressing the theme Healthy Living – Healthy Environments. Position Details
- Working hours: 29.25 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Planning
- Independent operational project management
- Development of timelines, milestones, and checklists
- Monitoring project progress
- Supervision of project assistance
Budget & Finance
- Full budget responsibility and financial oversight
- Cash flow coordination with financial management
- Supplementary fundraising (including sponsorship)
- Procurement management
Production & Technical Management
- Production lead for two festivals (Berlin 2027, Lower Saxony 2028)
- Coordination and oversight of production-related aspects of artistic and scientific projects
- Negotiation with venues and service providers
- Creation of technical riders and production concepts
- Management of technical, catering, and logistics teams
Coordination & Partnerships
- Lead coordination of the international open call
- Management of collaborations with partners, experts, scouts, and jury members
- Close coordination with Skills e. V. and TU Braunschweig
Documentation & Reporting

Responsibility for financial reports and narrative project reports
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should have:
- A completed university degree (or equivalent qualification) in cultural management, project management, event management, or a related field
- 3–5 years of professional experience in coordinating and leading complex cultural projects
- Proven experience in festival, exhibition, or large-scale event production
- Strong project management, budgeting, and procurement expertise
- Experience with publicly funded projects and financial reporting
- Technical event planning knowledge (e.g. technical riders)
- Transcultural competence and experience with international collaborations
- Very good German and English language skills
