About the Role
Bow Arts is seeking a Project Manager: Exhibitions & Development to join its Arts & Events team. This role plays a key position in supporting exhibition planning and delivery, developing partnerships, and generating revenue through space hire and retail.
Projects under this role include the East London Art Prize, Visions in the Nunnery, and the annual Bow Open exhibition.
The role sits within the Arts & Events department, reporting to the Director of Arts & Events, working alongside the Curator: Programming & Engagement, and supported by a Gallery Assistant.
Due to work with young people, all staff are subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Key Responsibilities
Exhibitions
- Administer exhibitions, including planning, installation, and delivery
- Liaise with exhibiting artists
- Support creative exhibition planning with the team
- Manage open call processes for exhibitions and prizes
- Work to and update project budgets (set by Director)
- Support exhibition touring planning
- Assist with future exhibition research and development
- Build and maintain relationships with partners and collaborators
Audience Development & Evaluation
- Support creation of marketing content (social media and print)
- Collect exhibition audience data
- Analyse and evaluate audience insights and report findings
- Work with the Marketing Officer to assess marketing performance
Revenue Development
- Manage exhibition space hire administration and delivery
- Oversee gallery shop operations (stock sourcing, artist liaison, merchandising, purchase orders)
- Support growth of retail and artwork sales, including Own Art scheme
- Curate and manage Nunnery Café exhibitions of affordable artworks
- Identify grant and sponsorship opportunities
Team Responsibilities
- Support events (including occasional evenings/weekends, with TOIL)
- Assist with wider projects (markets, commissions, residencies)
- Ensure health and safety compliance (training provided)
- Support gallery volunteers
- Provide front-of-house support when required
