Institution: Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) / Peranakan Museum (TPM)
Location: Singapore
Contract: Fixed-term (2 years)

The Asian Civilisations Museum and Peranakan Museum are seeking a Curator specialising in Peranakan Art. The role focuses on research, interpretation and public presentation of the museum’s collection, alongside exhibition development and stakeholder engagement.

The position combines curatorial, research and project management responsibilities within a museum context centred on Asian cultural heritage and diaspora studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop exhibition concepts, narratives and gallery storylines
  • Research and interpret the Peranakan collection
  • Collaborate on exhibition production with internal and external teams
  • Manage curatorial projects, including conferences and consultations
  • Produce catalogues, scholarly publications and digital content
  • Support acquisitions and develop collection strategies
  • Build relationships with donors, collectors and stakeholders
  • Coordinate loans and partnerships with institutions and private collectors
  • Contribute to public programming and interpretation strategies
  • Engage with communities and facilitate dialogue around collections

Profile Requirements

  • Master’s degree (or higher) in art history, history or related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a museum or research institution
  • Specialised knowledge in Peranakan art and Asian diaspora studies
  • Strong research, writing and analytical skills
  • Excellent English proficiency (additional languages advantageous)
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
