The AHL Foundation Curatorial Open Call offers a $5,000 stipend to curators of Korean heritage. The programme supports curatorial research in contemporary Korean art and aims to promote diversity within the curatorial field. The selected curator will develop and present an exhibition at the AHL Foundation Gallery in New York in April 2027.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Must be of Korean heritage
- Must have authorised working status in the United States
- Preference given to New York-based applicants
- Must attend the AHL Foundation Awards Ceremony on 7 November 2026
- Group exhibition proposals (two or more artists) preferred
Proposal Guidelines
- Curators cannot include their own work in the exhibition
- Previously exhibited projects will not be considered
- Budget must cover curator fees, artist fees, honorariums (if applicable), installation, shipping, documentation, and opening reception
- Optional inclusion of public or auxiliary programmes is allowed

- Proposed artist list with short bios
- PDF with 1–2 images per artist (max 10 images total, including links for media works)

- PR support (press, social media, newsletter coverage)
Additional Notes
Travel and additional expenses related to the award ceremony and exhibition must be covered within the $5,000 stipend. No separate reimbursement is provided.
