The successful candidate will have expertise in modern and contemporary art history, from 1950 to the present, forming a key component of the School’s wide-ranging teaching programme. Applicants must have completed a PhD in Art History or a cognate area and must have experience of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Candidates must have research and teaching experience beyond the field of Irish art history. Experience in global and/or non-western art history is desirable. The successful candidate will design, deliver and assess high-quality taught modules in the undergraduate and graduate programmes, and will undertake such administrative duties as assigned by the Head of School or their nominee. The appointee will also pursue their individual scholarly research specialism, supervise postgraduate research, and contribute to the collegial and highly engaged research culture of the School and College. UCD is a dynamic research-intensive university that is at the forefront of research and teaching activities across a wide range of disciplines. The successful candidate will join the oldest and largest art history department on the island, with research and teaching interests that span medieval to contemporary art, and a very successful MA taught programme in Art History, Curating and Collections.
