About the Role
The Young Creatives Programme Manager works within the Communities, Practice & Participation team to deliver and develop programmes for young people aged 16–21. The role focuses on co-curation, workshop delivery, partnership building, and programme coordination across schools, colleges, and community organisations.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery
- Research, devise, and deliver inclusive workshops for young people aged 16–21
- Co-create programme content with participants from diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Deliver sessions for schools, colleges, careers fairs, and outreach events
- Ensure safeguarding and complete risk assessments for all activities
- Manage bookings, materials, travel, hospitality, and session documentation
- Maintain attendance records and evaluate programme impact
Project Management and Coordination
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of the Young Creatives programme (Thursdays and Saturdays)
- Support development of the Changing Geographies strategy (2027–2030)
- Coordinate recruitment of young participants and partner organisations
- Maintain programme data and contribute to reporting and evaluation
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure coherent programme delivery
Organisational Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, safeguarding, and health & safety policies
- Support anti-racism and inclusion objectives within programme delivery
- Maintain accurate records for reporting and institutional accountability
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with young people (16–21) in contemporary arts contexts
- Experience delivering workshops in galleries or museums
- Strong understanding of inclusive and participatory pedagogies
- Experience working with artists, educators, or creative practitioners
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and partnerships
- Experience working with schools and educational institutions
- Knowledge of contemporary art and visual culture
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
Desirable
- Experience working with migrant or displaced communities
- Experience in communications or marketing
- First aid training
- Relevant FE/HE qualification
