About the Role

Key Responsibilities
Gallery & Exhibition Management
- Organise and oversee continuous exhibition programming during semester periods (4–5 projects)
- Coordinate additional projects during semester breaks
- Ensure smooth operation of the university gallery
- Support administrative tasks related to gallery operations
Educational & Student Support
- Supervise and guide student assistants and exhibition invigilators
- Support students in curatorial, artistic, and exhibition-related learning processes
- Contribute to the professionalisation of emerging artists, designers, and curators
- Facilitate integration between gallery work and academic teaching
Programme Development
- Contribute to the conceptual and curatorial development of the gallery programme
- Support academic self-governance activities
- Collaborate with teaching staff in related master’s programmes (curating, museum education, art education)
Requirements
Essential
- University degree in art, media, or cultural studies
- Proven experience as a curator or exhibition-maker in institutions or freelance contexts
- Experience in festival or programme organisation
- Strong communication skills in German and English
- Ability to communicate and instruct in both languages
- Experience working in collaborative and educational environments
Desirable
- Experience in public art mediation
- Experience in press or communications work in cultural institutions
- Knowledge of public art commissioning processes (e.g. art-in-architecture)
- Existing network within the contemporary art field
- Familiarity with university-based curatorial education programmes
