Lewis Dalton Gilbert Appointed Curatorial Research Associate at Firstsite
#announcement #Appointed curator #newsLewis Dalton Gilbert has been appointed Curatorial Research Associate at Firstsite, where he will lead a research programme exploring the work of Ken Kiff in preparation for a major exhibition scheduled for 2028.
An independent curator and director of the creative studio A Vibe Called Tech, Gilbert will examine Kiff’s artistic practice with a particular focus on The Sequence, a body of 200 acrylic paintings on paper developed over more than three decades. Connected through recurring themes and colour theory, the series reflects Kiff’s exploration of human experience, combining history, philosophy and literature with everyday observation through what he described as “flexible realism.”
The research will help shape the 2028 exhibition, which Firstsite hopes will tour museums, galleries and other venues across the UK, subject to securing additional funding. Further details about the exhibition are expected to be announced in 2027.
