Fubon Art Museum, designed by Renzo Piano, locates in the heart of Taipei’s Xinyi District, and opened to the public in 2024. FAM sits at the frontier of modern and contemporary art scene and is a portal to the global art community. Candidates should demonstrate expertise focusing on modern and contemporary art.

Position summary

Under the director of the Museum Director, the Curator of Modern and Contemporary will be a key member of the Research and Exhibition teams, working closely with colleagues to conduct research, organize exhibitions, develop interpretive materials, review and recommend visitor-centered exhibitions that diversity FAM exhibition and educational programs.

Required Qualifications

Strong art historical knowledge and research skills through scholarly accomplishments. Broad knowledge of postwar American art and global contemporary art.
Demonstrated experience in administration, museum operation, exhibition and publication development, and collection care.
Exceptional organizational ability, exemplary writing skills, good public speaking, excellent oral communication skills, and strong negotiation.
Knowledge of professional standards relating to the handling, storage, shipment, insurance, and presentation of works of art.
Effectively collaborate across departments and coordinate with artists and partner institutions
Ph.D. in art history, Museology, or Cultural Studies preferably.
At least 5 – 7 years of relevant experience in museums.
Ability to operate computers and work with databases and assigned software, including Microsoft Office and Google Platform.
Excellent Mandarin and good English skills; additional languages a plus.
