The Museo de Arte de Lima is Seeking an Assistant Curator

The Museo de Arte de Lima is seeking a person for the Historical Curatorships Assistance position during 2026, who will be responsible for coordinating the administrative and production processes of traveling exhibitions, as well as the rotation processes for the permanent galleries and associated publications.

Requirements:

  • University studies related to the field of art history, archaeology, or related disciplines. Those with studies in cultural management may also apply.
  • Desirable: specialized studies in museology.
  • Prior experience of at least 2 years in museum or editorial projects. Experience working with collections of artistic, archaeological, and historical assets will be valued.
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Excel and Google Docs, as well as email sending systems and other platforms for audience management or data analysis (Google Analytics or Google Data Studio).
  • Knowledge of Photoshop or similar programs.
  • Intermediate/advanced English.

 

Duties:

  • Keep databases updated with technical information on objects incorporated into each traveling exhibition and permanent gallery rotation project, coordinating with the Curatorship, Registration, Workshop, and Museography departments.
  • Manage and coordinate traveling exhibition logistics: loan agreements for artworks, reproduction or image/text usage permits, organize travel, letters, etc.
  • Operational coordination for the production of artworks, graphic pieces, and audiovisual materials for each traveling exhibition project, in conjunction with the Museography and Curatorship departments.
  • Prepare the exhibition dossier or report upon the completion of each traveling exhibition.
  • Coordinate with curators, editors, authors, translators, and graphic designers involved in the production of publications, providing the necessary information to successfully carry out editorial projects within the deadlines set by the schedule.
  • Administrative duties for each project.
  • Other duties associated with the position.
